New Book Rec.

Aloha humans! I’ve recently begun rereading one of my favourite series. In fact, I’ve been so invested, I forgot to make a YouTube video tonight. Hehe, whoops! Oh well, no great loss. The last one only had one view, and I know for a fact that was my sister. The new one will come! eventually.

Anyway, I got off-topic! The series is The Mysterious Benedict Society. The first book is my favourite and rereading it is like having a pleasant conversation with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. It’s really good.

  • Reynard “Reynie” Muldoon, an intelligent and perceptive orphan who has no friends due to his intelligence
  • George “Sticky” Washington, a fidgety, nervous, bespectacled boy with perfect memory and a surprisingly tragic backstory
  • Kate “The Great Kate Weather Machine” (no one calls her that) Wetherall, a bucket-toting, athletic, and cheerful girl who ran away with the circus on multiple occasions
  • Constance “Connie girl” (only Kate calls her that) Contraire, a small, clumsy, and cranky girl who is stubborn and constantly contrary (haha), but soon finds her place with the others. Doesn’t stop her from being a little brat, but she’s a lovable brat

and (names removed to prevent spoilers):

  • A mysterious narcoleptic fellow who brings our heroes together
  • a very small, very young grown-up
  • a woman rather like a pencil who never sleeps
  • sad, amnesiac, secret agent with lots of disguises
  • The Sender, the Gemini, our villain, a conceited and short-tempered genius
  • “Bless those size fifteens”
  • Jack and Jill
    • I’m not even kidding
  • typical school bully girl

Our heroes, Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance, have all passed curious and cryptic tests in their own ways, each after “special opportunities.” This leads them on the craziest mission of their life. Stop the Sender. There’s lots of Morse code and the like.

Anything else would be spoilers, so I recommend you humans just read the book. And if you like it, read the sequels. They’re not quite as good as the first, it would be hard to live up to it, but it’s great to get more of these characters and they’re still very good.

This will be the only post today due to computer troubles (the other reason for the video delay).  I should have things back to normal tomorrow.

Thanks for reading humans, love ya all! Byeeeeee!

Manga Recommendation

Aloha humans!

Wanna read a frickin awesome manga! (I may or may not be slightly a weeb). Okay, but seriously, I love reading and I love art so… manga.

If you haven’t at least heard of this, then I am absolutely shocked.

Basically, you follow Monkey D. Luffy, a kid who ate a Devil Fruit that turned him into a rubber man (he’s made of rubber, seriously) and keeps him from swimming. But he wants to be the King of Pirates and he won’t let the lack of a basic seaman’s skill stop him.

He picks up crew members along the way and saying just about anything else would be a spoiler, so if you can read it, I highly recommend it.

Why am I saying this now? Because I am currently reading the series!

Seriously, if you’re an adventure fan, it’s worth your time.

(P.S. the SBS Question Corner is frickin hilarious)

Book Recommendation

Aloha humans! I’ve found myself returning to this one book on multiple occasions, so maybe you’d like it to.

It’s called Dealing With Dragons by Patricia C. Wrede. Here’re some characters

  • Cimorene, the princess who wants nothing to do with her kingdom
  • Kazul, a VID (Very Important Dragon)
  • Woraug, a touchy dragon
  • Roxim, allergic to wizards
  • Morwen, a helpful witch
  • Therandil, an annoying prince
  • Zemenar, a wizard

So, yeah. You can look forward to an interesting, but quick read, and a very sympatheic protagonist. You should check it out! Thanks for reading humans, love ya all! Byeeeeee!
